First Assessment and Follow Up Treatments
What You and Your Pet can Expect
Your Animal First Visit
During the initial visit, your Practitioner will take a detailed health history from you about your pet and perform a physical examination focusing on the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system of your pet. If treatment is considered appropriate, a treatment plan will be developed to meet your pet's specific needs by incorporating a variety of treatment techniques including:
Joint mobilizations
Soft tissue therapy
Muscle energy techniques
Positional release therapy
Myofascial release therapy
Cranio-sacral manipulation
Visceral (organ) manipulation
Bioflex Laser (cold-laser therapy) - particularly successful after surgical procedures because it reduces secondary complications such as blood clots and excessive scar tissue development.
If your Practitioner finds your pet's condition would more appropriately bet treated or co-treated by another health care professional (or requires Veterinary care), she will make the appropriate referral.
Follow up visits
During follow-up visits, your pet's Practitioner may utilize one or more of the many different kinds of manual care techniques as well as the use of the Bioflex Laser therapy to further advance your pet's healing. Your pet's treatment will often include postural exercises you may be able to work on with your pet at home, and other healthy living suggestions if deemed appropriate such as supplementation for joint heal.
